Pack the House 2015

Fighting hunger one box at a time.

In recognition of Hunger Action Month, the team at Sailfish Realty volunteered and were sponsors at the first annual Pack the House 24 hour sort-a-thon at the Treasure Coast Food Bank.

The goal of this event was to pack and sort 100,000 pounds of food in 24 hours to create meals for those in need on the Treasure Coast. The end result? Over 500 volunteers packing and sorting double the amount of food, 213,000 pounds to be exact. This created 177,500 meals in the span of 24 hours!

Sailfish Realty is a proud supporter in the fight against hunger here in our community and around the Treasure Coast!

small-townYou may have heard and read the lists that have been coming out recently about the best small towns in America. It’s no surprise that our lovely, little, beach town of Stuart, Fla. made those lists.

Within the past couple of months we have been featured in:

– House Beautiful

– Country Living

– USA Today

– Smithsonian Magazine

It’s cool getting to see the town you grew up and live in be named one of “The 20 Best Small Towns to Visit in 2015,” or “The 50 Most Beautiful Small Towns in America.” We’ve also had HGTV do a couple shows here such as “House Hunters” and “Hotel Showdown.”

Our laid back attitude, sandy beaches, and  year-round summer weather makes living here sheer bliss. As a dear friend of ours says, “People spend their entire life-savings, and every dream that they have to come and hangout were we live.”

Did you hear? Property values in Martin County increased 4.11% this year, according to preliminary estimates released Monday by Property Appraiser Laurel Kelly. Keep in mind, the appraisal doesn’t include the All Aboard Florida impact. However, a new 13-mile Florida Power & Light Co. natural gas pipeline in Martin County would offset the negative impacts of the All Aboard Florida announcement by adding significant value to the tax roll.

Sailfish Realty of Florida would like to give a big shout out to Hank Gonzalez, Spence Spencer, and Tabitha Arguelles for volunteering their time and talents for the month of February.

Hank Gonzalez, Broker/Owner of Sailfish Realty, was a contestant in Singing With The Stars, a fundraising event for Artists for a Cause hosted by the StarStruck Performing Arts Center. Gonzalez was paired up with Shelley Keelor and performed the song Sue Me from the musical production, Guys & Dolls. “The performance was a hoot!” said Sailfish Realty’s marketing administrator, Amber Pitcher.

Realtor, Spence Spencer and his wife Kathryn represented Sailfish Realty during the second annual A Night at the Outrigger gala for the Council on Aging. “It was a great event for the Council on Aging at the Kane Center. I was honored to attend with my wife Kathryn and represent Sailfish Realty of Florida,” Spencer said.

As for one more good deed… Sales Associate, Tabitha Arguelles volunteered her time during the Howard Alan Art Festival in Historic Downtown Stuart.

Sailfish Realty of Florida consists of a proud and dedicated team of local real estate experts and professionals who love giving back to the community they work, live, and play in.

As part of our motto here at Sailfish Realty, “Committed to Service, Committed to Excellence” we decided to shake things up a bit and throw in the idea that, not only are we committed to service and excellence, but also we are the real estate firm that helps you get all your ducks in a row when it comes to buying and selling real estate. Hence, the idea of Splashy was born. Our little, yellow, rubber ducky. He’s kind of like our “unofficial” mascot around the office.

If you’ve been following us on social media and reading our blog, you will have noticed “Splashy’s” whereabouts setup like a downtown Stuart treasure hunt. We had a few lucky winners who won some nice prizes from the establishments where Splashy was hidden.

More importantly, we created Splashy to get involved with our community. And, once again, we are back at it! This time, instead of hiding Splashy, we are inviting people to enter into a #SplashySweepstakes. So be sure to visit our Facebook page to find out more on how you can participate in supporting us and our fellow downtown friends in the #SplashySweepstakes.
